Forklift Driver - 2nd Shift
About the role
This is a full-time position located in Rockwall, Texas, reporting to the Shipping Manager. The role involves working 2nd shift, 3:30pm - 11:30pm, with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate and care for the forklift in a safe manner
- Complete and document forklift inspection forms before start of shift and when operating a new forklift
- Locate stock before the start of the run and deliver it to machines safely and on time
- Remove finished goods from machines and maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas
- Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed
- Adhere to daily production schedule and make recommendations for optimizing the schedule
- Assist other forklift operators as necessary and complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
Requirements
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry or as a forklift operator is preferred
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy and calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
- Able to apply concepts of high school math
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form
- Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
- Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, and product quality specifications
Qualifications
Required to obtain and maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear, and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

$21.89 + shift differential
