About the role
This Forgings Auditor position is an excellent opportunity for recent retirees or consultants with experience in various forging disciplines such as open die, closed die, ring rolling, isothermal, hammer, press, extrusion, heat treating equipment, and their associated controls. Key alloy systems include steel, nickel, titanium, and aluminum.
Responsibilities
- Enjoy traveling domestically and/or internationally
- Flexible schedule options (1-2 audits per month to every week)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in material science/metallurgy or other related Engineering degree, or
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years forging industry experience, preferably in aerospace
- Post high school qualifications preferred
- Experience across multiple forging disciplines (open die, closed die, ring rolling, isothermal, hammer, press, extrusion)
- Experience with heating equipment and associated controls
- Experience with key alloy systems - steel, nickel, titanium, aluminum
- Auditing experience
- Certification as a recognized Quality Auditor or auditing experience considered a plus
- Familiarity with applicable specifications
- Aerospace OEM/Primes forging processes and material specifications
- Industry material specifications (AS9100)
Qualifications
- Membership of a professional institute - e.g. ASM, IOM3 - considered a plus
