About the role

This Composites auditor position is an excellent opportunity for recent retirees or consultants with experience in compression molding, core and/or liquid resin processing, metal bond, adhesive bonding, basic physical, mechanical and chemical properties of composite materials. Our auditors enjoy traveling domestically and/or internationally, a flexible schedule (some auditors perform 1 or 2 audits a month, while others desire to audit every week), competitive compensation that includes a daily rate plus travel expenses, meeting new people and keeping in touch with technology and the latest developments, networking with other industry professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Enjoy traveling domestically and/or internationally
  • Auditing various composite materials and processes
  • Ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards
  • Collaborating with team members to maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry developments

Requirements

  • One to three (1-3) years of auditing experience
  • Three (3) years direct experience (aerospace industry preferred) in the following aspects of composites:
    • Basic physical, mechanical and chemical properties of composite materials
    • Basic raw material testing methods
    • Storage, handling and environmental controls
    • Facilities experience (autoclaves, laser projectors, ply cutters)
    • Processing of various composite materials
    • Bagging procedures and tooling requirements
  • Three (3) years experience (aerospace industry preferred) in at least two of the following major composite fabrication processes:
    • Prepreg/Adhesive Bonding
    • Metal Bonding
    • Core Processing
  • Quality Assurance Experience

Qualifications

The ideal auditor candidate will possess most of the following criteria:

  • Experience with auditing various composite materials and processes
  • Knowledge of basic physical, mechanical and chemical properties of composite materials
  • Experience with basic raw material testing methods
  • Experience with storage, handling and environmental controls
  • Experience with facilities such as autoclaves, laser projectors, ply cutters
  • Experience with processing various composite materials
  • Experience with bagging procedures and tooling requirements
  • Experience with at least two of the following major composite fabrication processes:
    • Prepreg/Adhesive Bonding
    • Metal Bonding
    • Core Processing
  • Experience with Quality Assurance
