About the role
This Composites auditor position is an excellent opportunity for recent retirees or consultants with experience in compression molding, core and/or liquid resin processing, metal bond, adhesive bonding, basic physical, mechanical and chemical properties of composite materials. Our auditors enjoy traveling domestically and/or internationally, a flexible schedule (some auditors perform 1 or 2 audits a month, while others desire to audit every week), competitive compensation that includes a daily rate plus travel expenses, meeting new people and keeping in touch with technology and the latest developments, networking with other industry professionals.
Responsibilities
- Enjoy traveling domestically and/or internationally
- Auditing various composite materials and processes
- Ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards
- Collaborating with team members to maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry developments
Requirements
- One to three (1-3) years of auditing experience
- Three (3) years direct experience (aerospace industry preferred) in the following aspects of composites:
- Basic physical, mechanical and chemical properties of composite materials
- Basic raw material testing methods
- Storage, handling and environmental controls
- Facilities experience (autoclaves, laser projectors, ply cutters)
- Processing of various composite materials
- Bagging procedures and tooling requirements
- Three (3) years experience (aerospace industry preferred) in at least two of the following major composite fabrication processes:
- Prepreg/Adhesive Bonding
- Metal Bonding
- Core Processing
- Quality Assurance Experience
Qualifications
The ideal auditor candidate will possess most of the following criteria:
- Experience with auditing various composite materials and processes
- Knowledge of basic physical, mechanical and chemical properties of composite materials
- Experience with basic raw material testing methods
- Experience with storage, handling and environmental controls
- Experience with facilities such as autoclaves, laser projectors, ply cutters
- Experience with processing various composite materials
- Experience with bagging procedures and tooling requirements
- Experience with at least two of the following major composite fabrication processes:
- Prepreg/Adhesive Bonding
- Metal Bonding
- Core Processing
- Experience with Quality Assurance
