About the role
This PRN Registered Nurse (RN) position is an on-call role, primarily involving night shifts, with weekend and holiday requirements. As an RN Sexual Assault Examiner, you will perform forensic examinations, collect and preserve evidence for sexual assault cases, provide follow-up care, and participate in the judicial process, including expert testimony.
Responsibilities
- Perform forensic examinations for the collection and preservation of evidence in sexual assault cases.
- Provide follow-up care to patients.
- Participate in the judicial process, including providing expert testimony and witnessing.
- Use the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the healthcare team.
- Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses.
- Promote safe patient transitions through knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment.
- Delegate interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Must possess either CA-SANE or SANE-A certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Hold a BLS certificate or obtain within 30 days of starting the role.
- Active Registered Nurse License.

Schedule
On-call position with most shifts being nights. Weekend and holiday work is required. Details will be discussed during the formal interview process.
