About the role

This position oversees nursing care for forensic patients and supports safe, therapeutic treatment across multiple care areas. As a Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision: Provide direction, evaluation and oversight of nursing staff in forensic care areas
  • Resource Support: Serve as a knowledgeable support for nursing teams, interdisciplinary partners, and patient support services
  • Environment Safety: Review and maintain a safe and therapeutic setting for patients and employees
  • Training Coordination: Guide staff development, orientation, and ongoing training programs
  • Performance Guidance: Coach staff, evaluate work performance, and support corrective action when needed
  • Information Management: Manage communication, records, reports, and patient care documentation

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as a Forensic Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care, treatment, custody, and control of psychiatric patients.
  • Special Requirements: You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch
  • You will work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
