Forensic Accounting Consultant (Litigation & Family Law)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Consultant to join our Economic Damages and Valuations team. This position works under the supervision of Senior Associates, Managers, and Directors and supports engagements related primarily to family law and other litigation matters.
This is a unique opportunity for a highly driven candidate with strong analytical and organizational skills to work closely with testifying experts and leadership. The role involves analyzing complex financial information, preparing schedules and exhibits, reviewing discovery materials, and assisting in the preparation of materials used in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare equitable distribution charts through final column
- Review and reconcile cash activity from Date of Filing to present for bank, brokerage, and related accounts
- Prepare retirement plan analyses for defined contribution plans (401k, IRA, etc.)
- Analyze marital portions of pensions and defined benefit plans
- Prepare income analyses for W-2 employees
- Perform general ledger addbacks
- Auxiliary with financial affidavits as directed
- Prepare document request lists, responses to RFPs, and mandatory disclosures
- Determine standard work to be performed based on case type
- Cook discovery using CaseMap, including relevancy assessments
- Assemble deposition and trial exhibits and prepare binders
- Draft standard interrogatories
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation as directed
- Review and clean up data entry and schedules prepared by junior staff
- Prepare needs analyses with appropriate support adjustments (temporary or final)
- Auxiliary with hearing, deposition, mediation, and trial preparation
- Train and mentor junior staff as needed
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience (family law, forensic accounting, litigation support, valuation, audit, or financial analysis)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and general ledger data
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in forensic accounting or family law environments
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Familiarity with CaseMap or similar litigation support tools
- Experience supporting expert testimony or litigation matters
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Ability to perform detailed financial analysis and review large volumes of documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and shift priorities as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Additional Information
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
