Foreman - Supervisor

About the role

The Group Leaderman will oversee safety management systems and processes, leading a team to perform repair work, maintenance, inventory management, and product handling at a cement terminal.

Job Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for terminal safety in absence of the manager.
• Lead safety meetings and delegate work assignments.
• Train terminal team on Cemex safety protocols and equipment usage.
• Distribute inventory reports and manage communication.
• Handle rail car acceptance and release with local railroad.
• Administer and maintain Cemex APEX system for shipment/reception accuracy.
• Operate and maintain terminal facilities including unloading/loading systems and dust collection.
• Operate and maintain various types of equipment such as forklifts, railcar movers, etc.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Act as Facility Security Officer (FSO) and coordinate vessel arrivals with the US Coast Guard (at maritime facilities only).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Motor skills necessary to operate heavy equipment.
• Some mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Welding (MIG or stick).
• Using an acetylene cutting torch.

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor work.
• Must wear protective equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and perform tasks involving pushing, turning, and pulling controls.
