Position Summary
The Foreman is a safety-focused professional responsible for leading a crew in constructing and repairing electrical overhead distribution systems. This role involves working on energized and de-energized powerlines and may require travel to various job sites, including out-of-state locations.
Essential Functions
- Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
- Lead crew members and conduct pre-job and tailgate safety briefings.
- Coach and train lower classification employees in safe and productive work procedures.
- Oversee and ensure the quality and timely completion of assigned projects.
- Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors, and related hardware.
- Comprehensively understand and apply switching and tagging procedures, grounding, and induced voltage management on both energized and de-energized lines.
- Climb different structures (wood, steel, concrete) using approved methods and equipment.
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and near energized equipment.
- Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners, pullers, and other overhead line equipment.
- Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
- Be available to work outages, storms, emergencies, and on-call rotations.
- Perform live-line work using approved glove and hot-stick techniques on energized lines, including troubleshooting and fault location.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and possess a thorough understanding of insulated protective covers to isolate differences of potential.
Minimum Requirements
- Five (5) years of recent overhead line experience.
- Proficient in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
- Able to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

- Frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Exposure to loud noise levels in the work environment and job sites.
- Work in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
