About the role
The Foreman position oversees construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to design, budget, and schedule.
- Provide leadership and direction to crews.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and guidelines.
- Thorough knowledge of overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations.
- Install, troubleshoot, replace, or remove common distribution equipment.
- Plan work, including manpower, equipment, and material needs.
- Ensure work progress, equipment, and construction sites are safe.
- Utilize and secure company and customer tools and materials.
- Seek input from others for problem-solving and scheduling.
- Train crew members in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Support General Foreman/Project Managers to meet company goals and objectives.
- Suggest or initiate personnel actions.
- Maintain positive relationships with crew members, customers, and potential customers.
- Complete required forms and inspections.
- Communicate expectations and company goals to crew members.
- Show leadership and provide training in a safe, effective, and positive manner.
- Use English language for communication.
- Show dependability and trustworthiness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of 6 years' experience working on and around energized high-voltage primary electric lines.
- Valid CDL-A license with a clear driving record.
Key Nice-to-Haves
- Completion of an apprentice program or technical training as a lineman.
- Multiple years in a Journeyman Lineman classification.
