Foreman (Midwest Region)

About the role

As Foreman you will lead the crew and operate equipment necessary to install various utilities and associated units to complete projects. You will supervise and assist with all aspects of projects, including safety, managing team members, operating equipment, completing field paperwork, training, and occasional labor duties.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for assigned projects
• Lead, direct, and mentor crews to ensure on-time project completion while meeting financial and non-financial objectives
• Staff projects, recruit new talent, retain existing employees, and promote career advancement
• Manage employee relations, including recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations
• Recommend subcontractors for approval and initiate training/cross-training for personnel
• Handle daily scheduling and take corrective action to meet deadlines
• Monitor project performance for productivity, safety, and quality; resolve issues as needed
• Review and approve employee timecards and complete production reports daily
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to Fleet Manager
• Report equipment hours, miles, and other data to Fleet Manager weekly
• Abide by company, manufacturer, OSHA, and industry safety standards and regulations
• Establish positive working relationships with crew, customers, and subcontractors
• Conduct daily crew tool talk meetings to identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements
• Perform routine labor and operate equipment, including hauling equipment to/around project sites
• Represent PUSH, Inc. professionally at all times
• Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two years’ supervisory experience within a utility construction setting
• Demonstrated field experience with digging operations in city/rural areas around utilities
• Experience operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader (including attachments)
• Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred
• Must pass pre-employment screenings
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead teams

• Computer literate with Microsoft and Google G Suite experience
• Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare project-related work reports
• Ability to handle stressful situations and workloads
