About the role
Taylor’s Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead field crews in the safe and efficient execution of telecommunications and utility infrastructure construction projects. This role is field-based and responsible for supervising installation activities, coordinating day-to-day operations, ensuring quality workmanship, and mentoring crew members to meet project schedules and performance expectations. The Foreman serves as the on-site leader with direct responsibility for crew direction, work execution, safety compliance, and communication with superintendents, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and lead field crews to perform fiber optic installation, utility pole placement, splicing support, and related construction tasks
- Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies, client specifications, and industry standards
- Conduct daily briefings, assign crew tasks, and ensure understanding of job scope and expectations
- Monitor field progress and quality, providing guidance and coaching to crew members
- Communicate effectively with project management and field leadership regarding status, challenges, and resource needs
- Enforce safety protocols and participate in job hazard analyses, safety observations, and toolbox talks
- Absorb equipment, tools, and materials are used properly and maintained in good working condition
- Assist with troubleshooting field issues and ensuring timely project execution
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical coursework preferred
- Proven experience as a Foreman, Lead Installer, or similar role in telecommunications, utility construction, or fiber optic deployment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop crew members
- Demonstrated understanding of construction safety, traffic control, and OSHA compliance
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Forklift, aerial lift, or other equipment certifications a plus
Qualifications
