Foreman (Midwest Region)

About the role

Lead the crew and operate equipment necessary to install various utilities and associated units to complete projects. Supervise and assist with all aspects of projects including safety, team management, equipment operation, field paperwork, training, and occasional labor duties.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for assigned projects
• Lead, direct, and mentor crews to ensure on-time project completion while meeting financial and non-financial objectives
• Manage staffing, including recruiting, retention, and career advancement
• Handle employee relations, recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations
• Recommend subcontractors for approval and initiate training for personnel
• Schedule daily tasks and take corrective action to meet deadlines
• Monitor project performance for productivity, safety, and quality; resolve issues as needed
• Review and approve employee timecards and complete production reports
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to the Fleet Manager
• Report weekly equipment hours, miles, and other required information to the Fleet Manager
• Comply with company, manufacturer, industry, OSHA, and other applicable safety regulations
• Establish positive working relationships with crew, customers, and subcontractors
• Conduct daily crew tool talk meetings to identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements
• Perform routine labor, operate equipment, and haul equipment to and around project sites
• Represent PUSH, Inc. professionally at all times
• Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two years’ supervisory experience within a utility construction setting
• Demonstrated field experience with digging operations in city and rural areas around utilities
• Experience operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader, including various attachments
• Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead teams

• Computer literate with experience using Microsoft and Google G Suite
• Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare project-related work reports
