About the role

Lead the crew and operate equipment necessary to install various utilities and associated units to complete projects. Supervise and assist with all aspects of projects including safety, managing team members, operation of equipment, completing field paperwork, training, and occasional labor duties.

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • 100% travel; ability to be away from home for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for assigned projects
  • Lead, direct, and mentor crews to ensure on-time completion while meeting financial and non-financial objectives
  • Staff projects, recruit new talent, retain employees, and promote career advancement
  • Manage employee relations, including recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations
  • Recommend subcontractors for approval and initiate training/cross-training for personnel
  • Schedule daily tasks and take corrective action to meet deadlines
  • Monitor project performance for productivity, safety, and quality; resolve issues as needed
  • Review and approve employee timecards and complete production reports daily
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to Fleet Manager
  • Report equipment hours, miles, and other data to Fleet Manager weekly
  • Abide by company, manufacturer, OSHA, and industry safety standards
  • Establish positive working relationships with crew, customers, and subcontractors
  • Conduct daily crew toolbox meetings to identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements
  • Perform routine labor and operate equipment, including hauling equipment to/around project sites
  • Represent PUSH, Inc. professionally at all times
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Two years’ supervisory experience in a utility construction setting
  • Demonstrated field experience with digging operations in city/rural areas around utilities
  • Experience operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader (including attachments)
  • Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead teams
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Positive attitude and computer literacy (Microsoft/Google G Suite)
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare project-related reports
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and workloads
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and multitasking skills
