Foreman (Midwest Region)

About the role

The Foreman leads the crew and operates equipment to install utilities and complete projects. Responsibilities include supervising and assisting with all project aspects, such as safety, team management, equipment operation, field paperwork, training, and occasional labor duties.

• 100% travel required

• Requires coordination of eyes, hands, feet, and limbs for skilled movement

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for assigned projects
• Lead, direct, and mentor crews to ensure on-time project completion while meeting financial and non-financial objectives
• Staff projects, recruit new talent, retain employees, and promote career advancement
• Manage employee relations, including recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations
• Recommend subcontractors for approval and initiate training for personnel
• Schedule daily tasks and take corrective action to meet deadlines
• Monitor project performance for productivity, safety, and quality; resolve issues as needed
• Review and approve employee timecards and complete production reports daily
• Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to the Fleet Manager
• Report equipment hours, miles, and other details to the Fleet Manager weekly
• Follow all company, manufacturer, industry, OSHA, and regulatory safety procedures
• Build positive relationships with crew, customers, and subcontractors
• Conduct daily crew tool talk meetings to improve safety, quality, and productivity
• Perform routine labor and operate equipment, including hauling equipment to and around project sites
• Represent PUSH, Inc. professionally at all times
• Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two years of supervisory experience in a utility construction setting
• Field experience with digging operations in city and rural areas around utilities
• Experience operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader, including attachments
• Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
• Strong leadership skills to motivate, mentor, and lead teams
• Ability to work well with others and participate on a crew
• Willingness to embrace new technologies
• Positive attitude and computer literacy (Microsoft and Google G Suite)
• Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare project-related work reports
• Ability to handle stressful situations and workloads
• Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and multitasking skills
