Foreman - Hardscapes

Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; schedule may be adjusted by the Job Superintendent to ensure planned and efficient workdays. Saturdays may be required to meet job schedules. FLSA Status: Non-exempt, union.

Foremen work on different types of construction projects. A Foreman’s work requires various skills and experience. Igel is seeking a Foreman with specific experience in hardscape installation. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in brick pavers, constructing stone walls, granite curbing, precast benches, Unilock and Versalock systems, decorative brick saw cutting, and understanding of brick paver patterns and layout techniques.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with team about job expectations
• Pre-plans and organizes schedule for work on jobsite
• Handles confrontation and deescalates any potential problems that arise on a jobsite
• Communicates production goals and safety hazards effectively to field personnel
• Represents the Company in a manner consistent with its mission, vision and values
• Must have job skills as required by specific specialty
• Other duties as assigned
• Recognizes how construction work impacts stormwater and soil erosion and works to reduce impacts on the environment
• Knows, adheres, and enforces all company policies and procedures
• Reports all safety and equipment incidents in accordance with Company policy to the appropriate 24-Hour Incident or 24-Hour Shop Lines
• Works outside in all types of conditions
• Technically proficient in Igel software (Plangrid, HeavyJob, Bluebeam, etc.)
• Assists in planning the work, which includes providing back-up plans for unexpected changes

This list is non-exhaustive. Job responsibilities may vary based on operational needs and the instructions of the jobsite foreman and superintendent. The work a Laborer may perform is within the scope of the agreement with the Laborers Union.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have reliable transportation
• Standard First Aid/CPR certifications
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• OSHA 30-Hour Training Course completion
• Ability to use electronic devices with basic computer skills

Schedule

7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Saturdays may be required to meet job schedules. Schedule may be adjusted by the Job Superintendent as needed.
