About the Role

Provide overall on-site field supervision for the project site.

Responsibilities

  • Provide calculations on hours involved, tons of material.
  • Provides quantity of work performed.
  • Recognize and communicate to Superintendent or Project Manager any priority projects or problems.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent.
  • Coordinates, directs, and leads workers engaged in construction activities.
  • Supervise crews to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork, and pride.
  • Review and verifies employee time sheets.
  • Suggest and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, hires, and training requirements.
  • Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend motivational plans.
  • Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their questions and issues.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Know, understand and consistently enforce Company/OSHA rules.
  • Exhibit organization skills to ensure loose ends are cleaned up and completes projects timely.
  • Assist in effectively training construction workers.
  • Read and interprets construction drawings.
  • Lead safety meetings.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two to four years of related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed.
  • Must include related on-the-job training and experience in construction practices.
  • Experience and training must include methods, techniques, equipment, and hands-on experience in a supervisory position.
  • Advanced mechanical skills a plus.
  • CDL with endorsements and a clean driving record.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to plan, allocate resources, manage production, and coordinate people and equipment.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong—to recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when carrying out duties and to maintain good working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply information obtained from blueprints, surveys, and job specifications.

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Move 100 pounds.
  • Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
  • Climb scaffolds.
  • Climb ladders.
  • Walk projects to supervise work being installed.
  • Drive vehicles for company business.
  • Ability to walk several flights of stairs on high rise buildings.
