Foreman

About the role

The Foreman at Ortco Inc. is responsible for overseeing and managing all day-to-day construction tasks, ensuring they are executed according to goals and priorities set by the Superintendent. This includes maintaining schedules, adhering to scope and quality standards, and supervising subcontractors and laborers.

Responsibilities

• Accepts authority, responsibility, and accountability for all site activities.
• Ensures all work is completed on-time, within scope, and to high-quality standards.
• Drives specific tradesmen and laborers to ensure quality workmanship.
• Acts as the primary point of contact between the company and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
• Manages resources efficiently to resolve issues and meet project timelines.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project schedules.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: OSHA 30/Competent Person Certificate; First Aid/CPR, NPSI.
• Experience: 5 years Operator and/or Site Laborer experience.
• Preferred: 2 years Playground Installation experience.

Skills/Knowledge Abilities

• Must be able to read plans and schematics.
• Detail-oriented and hardworking.
• Ability to develop relationships with subcontractors and code officials.
• Resourcefulness in resolving issues quickly.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Working Conditions

Time will be spent in a field construction environment without controlled temperature. Normal business hours are typically Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM or as needed.
