About the role

The Body Shop Foreman at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is responsible for overseeing the Body and Paint Shop personnel, assisting them as needed, actively seeking wreck repair business, and ensuring that sales and profit objectives are met.

Essential Functions

• Exercise supervision of Body and Paint Shop personnel and assist when necessary.
• Actively seek wreck repair business to achieve sales and profit objectives.
• Write repair orders, estimates, and close repair orders upon completion.
• Assign work directly to hourly personnel and regulate schedules based on quality and quantity.
• Achieve and maintain realistic and attainable sales and gross profit objectives.
• Write estimates on wrecks, both locally and out-of-town, as necessary.
• Maintain company service tools and equipment, ensuring proper usage.
• Review repair orders to ensure completeness and accuracy, including adding any supplemental work.
• Inspect and, if necessary, road test vehicles upon completion of work.
• Promote safe work habits and report any safety and security violations to the Body Shop Manager.
• Inform the Body Shop Manager of customer complaints and handle them before the vehicle leaves the shop.
• Pre-plan parts requirements and develop good relations with customers, adjusters, and insurance companies.
• Maintain high-quality work to build a good reputation.
• Keep the Warranty Manager informed of warranty in-process and ensure proper documentation and tagging of warranty parts.
• Provide proper housekeeping of the Body Shop area and overall branch appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year technical school or equivalent experience in body work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Preferred previous supervisory experience.
• CDL preferred.
• Good leadership abilities.
