Foreman

About the role

MHC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group. As a Service Foreman, you will exercise direct supervisory responsibility over assigned Service Technicians, assist in diagnosing mechanical issues, and recommend repairs. You will work closely with the Service Advisor to greet customers, sell service labor, write repair orders, and estimate costs within set guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision and performance management of service technicians.
• Schedule and assign work to maximize efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with the Service Manager to manage technicians and repair scheduling.
• Work with the Service Advisor to schedule shop work and communicate with customers.
• Review work in progress to ensure timely completion and meet customer expectations.
• Assist in setting realistic and attainable sales and gross profit objectives.
• Inspect and road test vehicles upon repair completion to ensure quality.
• Keep the service administrative team informed of all warranty work in progress.
• Ensure all warranty and policy claim information is recorded on repair orders and parts are properly tagged.
• Perform productive work as business needs dictate.
• Inform the Service Manager of customer complaints for resolution before the vehicle leaves the shop.
• Investigate policy expenses and take action to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain a clean shop area and ensure tools and equipment are in proper operating condition.
• Promote safe work habits and report safety or security violations to the Service Manager.
• Notify management of shop bills that may exceed customer credit limits or require approval.
• Pre-plan parts requirements and participate in training to stay current on warranty and technical issues.
• Assist in opening and closing repair orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of experience in a related field, including a proven service background and knowledge of warranties.
• CDL preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong employee and customer service skills.
• Good leadership abilities and a positive, can-do attitude.
