Foreman
Duties and Responsibilities
- Skilled and technical work in constructing, installing, and repairing traffic signal systems, highway lighting, and other transportation-related systems.
- Supervision and Training of all subordinate employees assigned to the project.
- Aid Superintendent with material ordering, scheduling, and utility locates.
- Complete and turn in required personal and project paperwork.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Communications with customers and other contractors.
- Follow requirements for utility locates and permits.
- Fulfill the company tool list requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining and renewing required certifications and licenses.
- Responsible for assigned company vehicle and typically report to work at the job site.
- Abide by all the company safety rules.
- Wear proper PPE while on the job site and in the yard for lifting operations to include: Safety-toed work boots, safety vest, work gloves, and hard hat.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum five years combined experience as a Groundsman, Construction Technician I, and Construction Technician II.
- Operates and performs basic field maintenance on all equipment including but not limited to; aerial lift/bucket trucks, trenchers, derrick/digger trucks, cranes, backhoes, trackhoes, air compressors, and concrete saw.
- Operates Gas torches (cutting and brazing).
- Proficient with basic and specialized hand tools and power tools.
- Familiar with the MUTCD, NEC, CDOT & Local specifications & standards, Customer and Project specific specifications and standards.
- Proficiently read plans and schematic diagrams.
- Proficient with computer skills.
- Proficient at programming and setting up controllers, conflict monitors / MMU’s, video detection, and communications equipment.
- Proficient at traffic signal wiring.
- Efficiently supervise others, proficient problem solving, proper decision making.
- Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions.
- Follow and transmit clear written and verbal instructions.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, and Training
- Possess and maintain valid Colorado commercial driver’s license (CDL class A).
- Be insurable.
- Complete OSHA 30 hour training.
- Hazard Communications/MSDS, CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hantavirus, Respiratory Protection Bucket Truck/Aerial Lift, and fall protection.
- Trencher, Excavation, and Utility Damage Prevention.
- Crane and Rigging/Material Handling IMSA Traffic Signal Level II Construction certification and Level II Field Technician Certification or Journeyman Electrician License with appropriate related experience.
Work Environment
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Work at heights over 20 feet.
- Lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess and maintain a valid Colorado commercial driver’s license (CDL class A), a valid medical card if they have a CDL driver’s license, complete OSHA 30 hour training, and pass relevant certifications and licenses. Candidates should also have a high school diploma or equivalent, five years of combined experience as a Groundsman, Construction Technician I, and Construction Technician II, and proficiency in operating and maintaining various construction and electrical equipment.
Skills
Essential skills include proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and schematics, using basic and specialized hand and power tools, and operating various types of equipment such as aerial lifts, trenchers, and cranes. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are also crucial.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $27.00 to $32.00 annually.
