On-siteManagement$35–$50/hrFull-time

Salary: $35 - $50 per hour. Overtime is 1.5x after 40 hours (some locations apply overtime after 8:00 PM). Emergency service calls are paid from call-start until the technician returns home, and on-call rotates among the team.

About us

You've already mastered the tools — now put your name on the crew's work and mentor the next generation of technicians. Our client is a motivated, fast-growing team specializing in installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead doors and related systems across commercial and construction sites, with a reputation built on craftsmanship and getting the details right.

Why join us?

  • Top of the technician pay scale — this role recognizes real expertise, not just tenure.
  • A genuine leadership seat on the jobsite — you make the calls on sequencing, quality, and problem-solving in the field.
  • The chance to shape how less experienced technicians develop, not just complete your own tickets.
  • Still hands-on — this isn't a desk job wearing a different title; you're leading from the front.

A Day in This Role

You arrive at the site ahead of the crew to review the day's install plan and flag anything that looks off in the schematics. Through the morning, you're doing the most technically demanding parts of the install yourself while directing the rest of the crew on sequencing. When a technician runs into a tricky alignment issue, you walk over, diagnose it, and use it as a teaching moment. By the end of the day, you're signing off on the completed work, logging any deviations from plan, and briefing the Service Manager on tomorrow's job.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a small crew of technicians on install and repair jobs — sequencing work, assigning tasks, and ensuring quality.
  • Perform the most technically demanding install, repair, welding, and fabrication work personally.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics, resolving field discrepancies as they arise.
  • Mentor and train less experienced technicians in the field.
  • Ensure jobsite safety standards are followed by the full crew.
  • Sign off on completed work and communicate job status to the Service Manager.
  • Flag equipment, parts, or scheduling issues before they become bigger problems.

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Extensive hands-on experience installing and repairing overhead doors, dock equipment, or closely related commercial door systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and work from complex blueprints and schematics.
  • Welding, electrical, or locksmith skills in addition to core install/repair work.
  • Experience informally or formally leading, directing, or mentoring other technicians.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Formal supervisory or crew-lead experience.
  • Safety training or certification (OSHA or similar).
  • Access-control or low-voltage certification.

Career Path

Foremen with strong leadership track records are well-positioned to move into a Service Manager role, given the crew-leadership and quality-oversight experience this seat builds.
