About the role
The Construction Foreman will be the onsite manager of up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians, responsible for their safety, daily progress, weekly progress, JHAs, spot inspections, guiding, leading, teaching, mentoring, and communicating. They will work closely with the client and deliver all projects within budget and on time, handling multiple concurrent projects for one or more commercial retail clients while maintaining all Foreman level responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform material takeoffs on a regular frequency
- Maintain inventory of onsite material and equipment, and be neat and organized
- Demonstrate a high level of skill in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
- Understand scale and transfer scale to job site measurements for accuracy in locating major installation start/endpoints
- Fabricate Sheetmetal transitions and offsets as needed to keep progress moving forward
- Set and attain progress goals while being conscious of the overall labor budget
- Demonstrate general knowledge in basic job costing, including material cost differences
- Communicate effectively with staff and general contractor's onsite representatives
- Create daily progress reports with specific details and timely submission to project management
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the trade
- Universal EPA, Registration with TDLR, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR certifications are mandatory
- High level of knowledge in reading drawings, reading specifications, installation means, and methods, and understanding IECC, code enforcement, and safety
Skills
- Knowledge of all major components and installation methods, including RTUs, VAVs, Fan Powered Boxes, Fan Coils, Split Systems, Hydronic Systems, Chillers, Boilers, Piping, Valves, Ducting, Grilles, Registers and Diffusers, Louvers, Damper, Fans, Fire Dampers & Hoods, Roof curbs and caps, Equipment supports and Stands, Condensate and Gas, Stand Alone Controls, Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS/BACnet Controls, Startups & Reporting, Balancing Refrigerant, VRF systems, Heaters, Air Handlers, HVLS Fans, Exhaust Systems, Line Sets, Insulation, Jacketing, Thermometers and Gauges, Filters and Filtration, Transitions and Offsets, Snaplock and Flex

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Regularly required to stand, walk, and lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; noise level is usually high. All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride along with a field technician as part of their employment.
