About the role

The Construction Foreman will be the onsite manager of up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians, responsible for their safety, daily and weekly progress, and overall project management. They will work closely with clients to deliver projects within budget and on time, handling multiple concurrent projects for commercial retail clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform material takeoffs on a regular frequency
  • Maintain inventory of onsite material and equipment, ensuring a neat and organized work environment
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, understanding scale and transferring it to job site measurements
  • Fabricate sheetmetal transitions and offsets as needed to maintain progress
  • Set and attain progress goals while managing labor budget
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of basic job costing and material cost differences
  • Communicate effectively with staff and general contractor's onsite representatives
  • Create daily progress reports with specific details and timely submission to project management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the trade
  • Universal EPA, Registration with TDLR, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR certifications are mandatory
  • High level of knowledge in reading drawings, specifications, installation means, and methods, as well as understanding IECC, code enforcement, and safety

Skills

  • Knowledge of major components and installation methods for HVAC systems, including RTUs, VAVs, Fan Powered Boxes, and more
  • Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS/BACnet Controls, start-ups, and reporting
  • Ability to balance refrigerant, work with VRF systems, and understand heaters, air handlers, and exhaust systems

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an honest team player, growth-oriented, and able to do whatever it takes to get the job done safely. They will have a high level of skill in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, as well as the ability to fabricate sheetmetal transitions and offsets.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

The Construction Foreman will regularly be required to stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds in a high-noise environment. They may also be required to visit customer sites or complete ride-alongs with field technicians as part of their employment.
