About the role
The Labor Foreman oversees and coordinates the work of labor crews on construction projects, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of labor crews.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project requirements.
- Assign tasks and provide clear instructions to crew members.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain time, production, and other records as required.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other foremen to ensure project milestones are met.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate laborers to build a strong, productive team.
- Monitor use of materials and equipment to prevent waste and ensure proper maintenance.
- Identify and resolve issues that could cause delays or safety hazards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction labor experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Able to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.
