Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Systems Engineer (Journeyman)
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to support the Advanced Tactical Aircraft Protection Systems Program Office (PMA-272) at NAS Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days a week working on-site. Anticipated travel requirements are 1 week per month.
Responsibilities
- Perform work related to research, development, integration, test, acquisition, and life-cycle support of electronic systems that provide aircrew with situational awareness needed for safety-of-flight.
- Perform programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
- Guide the engineering development of modern complex systems.
- Employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.
- Advise on, administer, or perform professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with engineering projects, systems, processes, equipment, devices, material, or methods.
- Effectively and efficiently operate and communicate across multi-level security environments.
- Demonstrate competence and creativity in developing new concepts and new uses of material/hardware/software/tactics.
- Develop or test new equipment or material that significantly adds to the operability and usefulness of existing or new equipment/systems having new features.
- Provide technically sound advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of systems or concept development.
- Summarize data, observations, and findings to support the preparation of technical documents, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Gather, analyze, document, and manage technical and performance requirements from all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Review life cycle management documentation for Aircraft Protection Systems, ensuring supportability from design through disposal.
- Identify, assess, and document technical, programmatic, and Aircraft Protection Systems readiness and sustainment risks.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, program offices, contractors, and external agencies.
- Prepare clear, concise technical documents, including gap analyses, business case analyses, plans, and regular status reports/briefings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in Aircraft Protection Systems sustainment and support the implementation of best practices.
- Travel to other commands, universities, contractor plants, and sponsor headquarters to discuss and resolve difficult problems, assist in determining project direction, and provide advice on new and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description is required.
- Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
- Prior involvement with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs desired.
- Understanding of program management, acquisition processes, and international defense cooperation strongly desired.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders across U.S. Navy, partners, and industry to ensure program milestones and deliverables are met.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills for working with engineers, logisticians, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering results in support of multi-level security projects.
- Proficient in the MS Office 365 suite.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance and SAP eligibility (threshold requirement).
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility (objective requirement).
Pay
The general salary range for this position is $130,577.00 - $144,991.00, based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements.
