About the role
The Assistant Manager acts as a leader in the absence of, or in support of, the Store Manager. You will represent For Eyes as an expert destination for vision needs within the community and deliver key performance metrics while leading the team to provide excellent guest service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality and improvement to meet or exceed all key performance indicators (KPIs), including comp sales, conversion, customer count, store profitability, exam growth, and Net Promoter Score.
- Demonstrate understanding of retail business and drive superior sales and business results.
- Support the Store Manager in diagnosing business needs, leveraging synergies between retail, lab, and doctor teams to drive positive results.
- Assist in developing and executing store business plans to maximize sales and profit.
- Lead, train, and guide team members, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Inform the Store Manager of any situations requiring development or disciplinary action.
- Support recruiting efforts, help select high-caliber team members, and create a talent pipeline.
- Optimally staff the store and maintain pride in store appearance while executing visual directives.
- Maintain positive working relationships with doctors and ensure team compliance with company policies.
- Anticipate and address problems proactively, focusing on long-term solutions.
- Perform administrative duties and maintain a safe working environment.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1+ years of management/supervisory experience with direct reports.
- Knowledge of retail operations, processes, and policies.
- Strong basic math skills and familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
- Strong command of the English language for written and oral communication.
- Demonstrated high-level selling skills and proven ability to problem-solve.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a leadership position within retail and customer service.
- Knowledge of basic optics and current store merchandise.
- State licensure (if applicable) and/or ABO Certification in non-licensed states.
- Brand Final Inspector Certification.
- Brand Quality, Fitting & Adjusting Program certification.
Pay
Pay range: $22.41 - $34.95 per hour. Employee pay is determined by factors such as geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
