The Department Alfred Health Support Services provides non-clinical support services across Alfred Health, including cleaning services, car parking and fleet management, waste management, gardens and grounds, distribution, security and access control, ward support, linen services, ancillary services, food services and hospitality.

The Food Services Assistant will operate as part of the Food Services team and will assist in providing and maintaining a safe food delivery service and a clean and hygienic environment within the kitchen. This will be performed in a manner that meets or exceeds industry best practice and maintains cleaning standards in accordance with the Department of Human Services Cleaning Standards for Public Hospitals, food safety in line with the on-site Hospital Food Safety Plan, the Food Act 1984 and FSANZ standards. In doing so, the role will work closely with other Food Services team members to ensure a committed, safe and socially responsible multi-skilled team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing and maintaining a safe food delivery service
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment within the kitchen
  • Meet or exceed industry best practice and cleaning standards
  • Adhere to the Department of Human Services Cleaning Standards for Public Hospitals
  • Follow the on-site Hospital Food Safety Plan, the Food Act 1984 and FSANZ standards
  • Collaborate with the Food Services team to support a committed, safe and socially responsible multi-skilled team

Qualifications

  • Background of experience in Food Services within Health and Aged Care facilities
  • Ability and adaptability to participate in change
  • Completion of, or willingness to participate in, training and education appropriate to improve skills required for the position
