About the role
Serves as a substitute food service worker across District schools, preparing and serving school meals in accordance with food and safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of a variety of foods in accordance with food and safety standards.
- Washes, cuts, cooks, and/or re-heats food items, weighing and measuring ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
- Sets up serving lines and serves meals or meal components.
- Communicates with students and school staff when serving food items.
- Operates cash register, accepting money and making change for food and beverages served.
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, and facilities in accordance with approved housekeeping and safety practices and guidelines; performs related kitchen and facility duties (e.g., laundry, general cleaning).
- Operates kitchen equipment.
- Stocks and organizes food-related items and kitchen supplies in refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, and storerooms; stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
- Follows approved housekeeping and safety practices to ensure safe conditions are maintained in the kitchen, food-serving areas, and dining area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high-quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability, with or without accommodations, to meet the physical demands of the position.
Pay
$20.25/hr.
