Food Service Worker - Part Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform any and all tasks deemed necessary by the Director of Food Services (or his/her designee), to facilitate the provision of meals to students pursuant to the regulations of the National School Lunch Program and/or its associated programs.
• Food preparation, food service at meal times, operating a cash register, encouragement toward healthy eating, and clean up of any equipment and kitchen areas related to the preparation, serving and consumption of school meals according to the USDA Child Nutrition Program Regulations and HACCP procedures.
• Prepare hot and cold food items as assigned by the Food Service Manager.
• Review and complete items assigned daily by the Food Service Manager, Assistant Manager/Cook, FSD or AFSD in addition to completing tasks assigned on the Job Task List.
• Clean-up and sanitation of cafeteria area, equipment, and serving lines following HACCP procedures.
• Operation of dishwasher and 3-compartment sink for proper sanitation of all food service small equipment (i.e. lunch trays, hotel pans, sheet pans, utensils, etc).
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of weights, measures and portion control.
• Ability to understand and follow performance directions.
• Ability to successfully interact with students.
• Ability to travel to various school district buildings as necessary.
