Food Service Worker - Part - Time

About the role

Part-time position with rotating schedule of 3 days per week. Hours vary by shift:

• 12 pm to 6 pm
• 9 am to 2 pm
• Sundays

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility.
• Prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus.
• Use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.
• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Cook food according to recipes using kitchen utensils/equipment.
• Serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs using proper utensils.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees and inmates.
• Stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Perform physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Carry out other responsibilities as determined by operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.

Preferred: Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
