Responsibilities
- Assist with food service procedures under the supervision of the Dietary Operations Manager to serve food to residents.
- Obtain and stock food and dietary supplies from storage; open cans, cases, and packages.
- Portion, slice, chop, grind, re-thermalize, and assemble food according to verbal, written, or medical orders.
- Maintain a clean work area and equipment; clean and sanitize floors, walls, counters, sinks, and equipment; take out trash.
- Scrape, rinse, wash, and sanitize pots, pans, food carriers, trays, and other kitchen equipment using automatic dishwashers or manual methods.
- Store kitchen equipment when not in use.
- Deliver food and dietary supplies to residential cottages using a food service truck.
- Maintain inventory by documenting food usage, overages, and shortages.
- Attend meetings and in-service training as required.
Requirements
- Formal education in reading and speaking common English vocabulary.
- Formal education in arithmetic, including addition and subtraction of whole numbers.
- Equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
- This classification is considered unskilled labor and exempt from written examination per Section 124.11(B)(2) of the Revised Code.
