This Food Service Worker position performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, and serving duties in the Alaska Airlines Lounge storeroom, dining, or serving area. This role supports daily food service operations at the Alaska Airlines Lounge located inside the Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, AK.
Responsibilities
- Variety of food preparations such as washing, chopping, organizing food items, and following recipes.
- Assists cooks and others as needed and coordinates activities with team members.
- Prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
- Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
- Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc., and place them in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
- Maintain product levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas, including service machines.
- Stock storage areas with various products.
- Assist with periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
- Perform other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least six (6) months of related food service experience.
- Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate (contingent upon 30 days of hire).
- Ability to work rotating shifts and varying schedules, including holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Ability to pass SIDA Badge test, including an assessment of knowledge related to airport security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations in secure and restricted areas.
- Ability to obtain an Alaska AOA Badge. Eligibility requires:
- Successfully passing an FBI fingerprint-based background check.
- Completing and passing a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).
- Having no outstanding warrants or providing documentation of their resolution.

- Weather: Environmentally controlled; most work is done indoors, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather.

- Physical requirements:
- Lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
