Food Service Worker On-Call

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in the kitchen and dining areas
• Assist in the serving and preparation of food
• Assist the cook in the preparation of food
• Number of students expected is not specified
• Monitor stockroom commodities
• Serve food; may make coffee, tea and other beverages or salads and salad dressings
• Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances
• Ensure proper floor care
• Operate dish-washing equipment to ensure dishes and utensils are cleaned and sanitized
• Clean and check kitchen service equipment
• Ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary
• Replenish napkin dispensers, plate and silverware racks, fill salt and pepper shakers, condiments, etc.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 3-6 months experience in food preparation training and related food service work experience preferred
• Must possess or be able to obtain ServSafe food safety certification
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred

Requirements

• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check

Position Hourly Rate: $17.50

Schedule

On-Call position up to 29 hours/week

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.
