Food Service Worker On-Call

Pay

$17.50 per hour

Schedule

On-call position up to 29 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in the kitchen and dining areas
• Assist in the serving and preparation of food
• Assist the cook in food preparation, monitor expected number of students, and track stockroom commodities
• Prepare coffee, tea, beverages, salads, and salad dressings
• Clean food service area, tables, kitchen equipment, and appliances; ensure proper floor care
• Operate dish-washing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes and utensils
• Clean and inspect kitchen service equipment; ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary
• Replenish napkin dispensers, plate and silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers, and condiments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3-6 months experience in food preparation training and related food service work preferred
• Must possess or be able to obtain ServSafe food safety certification
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check
• This role is classified as safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug/alcohol testing consistent with state law and organizational policy

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.
