FOOD SERVICE WORKER(Job Id 53440)

Location: New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH 03276

Summary

To assist in serving and preparing nutritionally balanced meals according to a prescribed menu plan and established safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.
• Set up for meal service, take food orders, serve residents, and clean the ladies lounge and Tarr dining rooms.
• Operate dishwashing machine, food disposal equipment, toaster, and heat‑on‑demand unit.
• Assist with passing trays, collecting trays, and cleaning tables and chairs on LEDU units, Welch units, and other guest‑meal service areas.
• Stock all work areas and unit kitchenettes.
• Clean all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen, and dishwashing areas.
• May be involved in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by the cook, chef, or dietary management team.
• Exercise responsibility for training new employees.
• Perform extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team.
• May be involved in procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation for both regular and special diets.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Experience: 8th‑grade education.
• License/Certification: None.
• Other Requirements: Must possess clean personal health and sanitation habits.
• Trainee Option: Not applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a waiter, waitress, dining‑room attendant, or food‑service worker.

Pay

Hourly rate: $14.40 – $18.46.

Schedule

5:30 am – 2:00 pm shifts, varying weekends (additional $2.00/hour).
