FOOD SERVICE WORKER(Job Id 53237)

Summary

To assist in serving and preparing nutritionally balanced meals according to a prescribed menu plan and established safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.
• Sets up for meal service, takes food orders, serves residents, and cleans the ladies lounge and Tarr dining rooms.
• Operates dishwashing machine, food disposal equipment, toaster, and heat‑on‑demand unit.
• Assists with passing trays, collecting trays, and cleaning tables and chairs in LEDU units, Welch units, and other guest meal service areas.
• Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes.
• Cleans all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen, and dishwashing areas.
• May be involved in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by the cook, chef, or dietary management team.
• Exercises responsibility for training new employees.
• Performs extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team.
• May be involved in procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation relating to both regular and special diets.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Experience: 8th grade education.
• License/Certification: None.
• Other Requirements: Must possess clean personal health and sanitation habits.
• Trainee Option: Not applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a waiter, waitress, dining room attendant, or food service worker.

Pay

$14.40 – $18.46 hourly.

Schedule

• 10:30 am – 7:15 pm shifts (1st shift).
• Varying weekends with an additional $2.00 per hour.

Location: New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH 03276 (US:NH:TILTON). Full‑time, 1st‑shift position.
