FOOD SERVICE WORKER(Job Id 52587)

About the role

The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for a Food Service Worker. Proposed schedule includes 10:30 am – 7:15 pm shifts with varying weekends (additional $2.00/hour).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation and setup of individual trays for food distribution
• Set up for meal service, take food orders, serve residents, and clean dining areas
• Operate dishwashing machine, food disposal, toaster, and heat-on-demand unit
• Assist with passing trays, collecting trays, and cleaning tables and chairs on assigned units
• Stock all work areas and unit kitchenettes
• Clean all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen, and dishwashing areas
• Assist with cooking or preparing foods as directed by cook, chef, or dietary management team
• Exercise responsibility for training new employees
• Perform extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team
• Assist with procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation for regular and special diets

Requirements

• Minimum 8th grade education
• Clean personal health and sanitation habits

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a waiter, waitress, dining room attendant, or food service worker

Pay

• $14.40 – $18.46 per hour
