Food Service Worker II
About the role
Performs a variety of routine duties related to food preparation and service for patients and the cafeteria. Operates major food prep equipment. Cleans assigned areas following established practices and procedures for quality, safety, and infection control. Performs cashier duties using the POS system. Performs general cleaning duties; removes trash and garbage to designated areas. Provides service in all retail areas, including cashiering, line serving, and working grill stations. Inventories and restocks supplies and food products in the cafe. Sets up serving line, ensuring temperatures are taken, recorded and within acceptable ranges; notifies cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits. Serves hot and cold items to customers. Sets up items for purchase on daily basis. Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment. Brews coffee and tea. May be required to restock other beverage areas. Interacts with customers in the serving and dining areas.

Requirements
- Valid food handler card issued by a San Diego county authorized food handler training school.
- Current employees are not eligible for hiring incentives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
Skills
- Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail).
- Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.
