Food Service Worker - Holyoke Community College

Aramark is seeking a Food Service Worker to support daily kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.

About the role

Assist the manager with food and meal preparation, cash handling, and daily reporting. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
• Complete daily reports verifying transactions and meal counts
• Understand meal components and ensure accurate, sanitary food storage
• Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including knives
• Prepare a variety of food items, beverages, and garnishments for presentation and customer satisfaction
• Assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking/serving equipment
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
• Follow uniform policy and coordinate daily with the manager to prepare the menu accurately
• Monitor and maintain food temperature requirements
• Keep work and storage areas clean and organized
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
• Maintain garbage collection sites and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary condition
• Perform other assigned duties, including tasks in other kitchen areas

This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.

Requirements

• Food Service Certificate as required by location
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
• Capability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure

Pay

Hourly rate: $16.00 to $17.50.
