Food Service Worker / Dietary Aide

Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering behavioral health treatment services for over 83 years on 10 acres of landscaped grounds in Covina, California—22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley.

About the role

Our Dietary Aide participates in providing quality meals and nutritional services to patients, staff, and guests in a patient-centric environment that fosters healing, growth, and long-term wellness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to specified serving times and deadlines
• Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers
• Maintain hygiene standards in food preparation
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces using appropriate products and methods
• Remain composed during volatile or hostile customer-service interactions
• Adapt work hours to meet patient and organizational operating needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Ability to concentrate in a noisy, high-traffic environment
• Food Handler’s Certificate from an ANSI-accredited program (must obtain within 30 days of hire)

Pay

$23 – $25 per hour

Schedule

• Thursdays: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• Saturdays & Sundays: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
