Food Service Worker - Cafeteria

About the role

Punahou's food services encompass the logistics of feeding over 3,600 students and 600 faculty and staff daily with a choice of offerings in the dining rooms and snack bar. The school continues its commitment to providing healthy food options with emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat, high-protein meats, locally grown meats and produce, a minimal amount of processed foods served, no artificial trans fats, no high fructose corn syrups and no deep-fat fried foods as well as sustainable choices in the operation of the cafeteria.

Responsibilities

• Supports the food service area with responsibilities for preparing, serving, and storing food items for students, faculty and staff
• Maintains food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition
• Performs routine cashiering tasks and operates the school's computerized point of sale system

Schedule

• Work Year: 10.5 Months
• Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs

Pay

• Minimum Hourly Rate*: $17.00/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred
• Previous food service experience preferred
• Prior working knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred
• Incumbent will need to obtain a ServSafe Certification within 6 months from entering the position
