Job Summary
Amazing opportunity to work in a beautiful setting in the rolling hills of North Salem with a top‑rated facility in Westchester County. Waterview Hills Campus includes Waterview Hills and Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare, providing outstanding sub‑acute rehab and long‑term skilled nursing care. The Food Service Worker provides residents with meals and snacks in a sanitary, safe manner while focusing on customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cold and hot food and beverage items according to diets and recipes.
- Serve resident tray lines and main dining room, or assemble trays per prescribed diets.
- Take inventory and deliver prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times.
- Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service.
- Wash dishes and perform other assigned tasks for each shift.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, equipment, and surroundings, including sweeping, mopping, and garbage removal.
- Handle knives and small kitchen equipment safely, following established safety guidelines and departmental policies.
- Know and use all chemicals used in the department safely.
- Provide excellent and responsible customer service to residents and all facility staff.
- Adhere to assigned break times and service times.
- Maintain attendance records in accordance with facility standards.
- Observe safe, economical, and proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure HIPAA requirements are adhered to.
- Follow all facility and department policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Experience working in a kitchen in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- COVID‑19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated; vaccination is offered based on CDC eligibility guidance.
Schedule
- Full‑time (40 hours): Saturday/Sunday – 6:00 am–2:30 pm; Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday – 11:30 am–8:00 pm; Thursday/Friday – OFF.
- Part‑time (19 hours): Wednesday/Friday/Saturday – 3:15 pm–8:00 pm; Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday – OFF.
