Food Service Worker

About the role

The Food Service Supervisor (Shift Supervisor) position involves preparing and serving a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus. Reporting to a Food Service Director, this role works onsite inside a jail/correctional facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Assist inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of a variety of food items following departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions.
• Follow assigned facility housekeeping and safety practices in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior institutional food service or restaurant, cafeteria experience.
• ServSafe® Food Handler certification (additional $0.25/hour with certification).

Pay

$22.15/hour

Shift work in a correctional facility setting.
