Food Service Worker

Solon Schools' Food & Nutrition Services offers both permanent and substitute positions in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Cafeteria workers prepare, serve, and clean up daily school lunches while fostering a positive eating environment and promoting healthy foods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in an efficient food service program that provides nutritious, attractive meals in a clean, cheerful, and caring atmosphere.
• Prepare food portions and set up the hot and cold cafeteria serving counter.
• Review the daily menu and follow instructions from the Cafeteria Manager for any variations.
• Maintain adequate supply of serving utensils and food supplies for all lunch periods.
• Serve students and staff with equal, required portions.
• Clean utensils, carts, equipment, counters, work areas, refrigerators, freezers, and stock rooms to ensure safety and sanitation.
• Work collaboratively with the team to provide friendly service to students.
• Perform additional tasks as required, including duties at special meal functions.

Pay

• Permanent: $15.74–$19.33 per hour, based on prior experience.
• Substitute: $15.74 per hour.

Schedule

• 10-month position (August–June), following the district calendar.
• Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–1:30 PM or 9:45 AM–1:15 PM (3.5 hours per day).
