About the role
The Food Service Worker is an essential position in our food service department responsible for providing quality food products to guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepares sandwiches and other items to order and in bulk
- Greet guests and answer any questions they may have about the menu
- Prepare food to standardized recipes and in accordance with guest's order
- Aid the Kitchen Supervisor with salad bar operations
- Review, prepare, and serve fresh food items in a timely manner
- Execute daily line checks to ensure proper temperatures and quality
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
- Present, garnish, and arrange final dishes
- Serve food while maintaining standards for the salad bar operation
- Prepare food items and condiments
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards for handling, preparing, and storing ingredients
- Review inventory and expiration dates
- Clean work areas, equipment, pans, and utensils
- Answer questions from guests and staff regarding menu items
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Full knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
- Full knowledge of menu items and presentations
- Demonstrate excellent listening skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to assist guests, fellow team members, and management
- Strong skills in time management and organization, with excellent attention to detail
- Analytical skills and emotional intelligence to recognize and solve problems
- The ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
- Must be reliable and dependable by being punctual, adhering to a schedule
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Team Members and Managers
- The physical ability to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds
- ServSafe certification desired, but may be obtained after hire
