Food Service Worker
About the role
The Food Service Worker is a collaborative opportunity on our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will ensure MultiCare patients, families and visitors have the best possible nutritional health care experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of cashiering and grill cook duties applying excellent customer service
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families and visitors and the kitchen staff
- Support our organizational values while serving a diverse population
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations as set by standards
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Current Washington State Food Handlers Card within seven (7) days of hire
- Previous experience in institutional or restaurant food service preferred

About Tacoma General Hospital
Tacoma General Hospital, located in the heart of Tacoma, WA, is a 367-bed regional medical center. It features a 24-hour Emergency Department, Level II Adult Trauma Center, advanced cardiac, neurological, orthopedic and robotic surgery, and the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center. The hospital also houses a Family Birth Center and specialized neonatal care in partnership with Mary Bridge Children’s.

Pay and Benefits
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $20.86 - $31.73 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
