About the role

The Food Service Worker is responsible for food preparation, cooking, cleaning, stocking, organizing, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with food preparation such as creating fruit cups, maintaining the salad bar, stocking food supplies, etc.
  • Engage with and provide superior service to all customers.
  • Communicate with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods and capture sales in the point of sales system.
  • Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Ensure accuracy of payments and change disbursements.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments.
  • Identify alarms or changes in morale and performance.
  • Maintain calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to set a positive example for the team.
  • Organize and stock supplies, service stations and products.
  • Rotate products and stock grab-and-go items throughout shift to increase sales.
  • Follow-up placement protocols to optimize customer sales.
  • Follow operational policies and procedures.
  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Clean, sanitize and organize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Clean service and seating areas.
  • Scrub and polish counters, tables, and other equipment.
  • Perform other duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary.

Requirements

  • 1 year of food service experience required.
  • Strong food prep skills preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment for preparing, serving, storing and handling food and beverage products.
  • Ability to add and subtract, charging appropriately and distributing change to customers.
