About the role
The Food Service Worker 2 position is 9-month or 11.5-month cyclic, located at various UW Dining venues. This position is 100% onsite and not eligible for remote work. Schedules may be changed with two weeks' notice.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead employees in food preparation, beverage production, serving and/or dishwashing.
- Perform basic preparation including, paring fruits and vegetables, reheating refrigerated or frozen soups, assembling sandwiches and salads, toasting bread, preparing hot and cold beverages and/or packaging grab and go items.
- May act as a short order cook at a grill, fryer, or similar workspace.
- Set up station, stock/restock, and rotate supplies according to established plans, par levels and food handling policies and procedures.
- Take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system.
- Restock and rotate station according to established plans, par levels and food handling policies and procedures.
- Clean continuously and maintain order of workstation and prep areas, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
- Affix unused food properly, wrap, date, label, and store it.
- Assign student, hourly or Food Service Workers 1 to meet production and service needs.
- Lead staff at an individual platform, station or café.
Requirements
- Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.
- One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.

- Minimum Qualifications: Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.

Pay
Pay Range Minimum: $45,144.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum: $51,936.00 annual
