Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of meals and snacks
• Cleanup of dining areas
• Aids in receiving, rotating, and storing of supplies and food
• Interacts with residents daily, helping to serve them, clean work areas, wash dishes, pans, and utensils
• Ensures compliance with infection control, safety, and sanitation functions
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of food storage and work areas, and properly maintains equipment and supplies
• Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations and reports violations to supervisor
• Prepares and serves meals for residents according to diet orders
• Works with the Dietary Manager to meet resident needs
• Plays a role in production planning and purchasing food and equipment
• Responds to residents' requests on short notice
• Plans and prepares for facility's special events

Qualifications

• Able to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights, lift up to 50 lbs
• Reads, writes, and understands English, performs simple math calculations, measures, and records data
• Has attention to detail, good follow-through skills, and can prioritize multiple tasks
• Can supervise and instruct others
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred
• Shows cooperation in assisting others and works as a team
• Remains calm in stressful situations, demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks
• Communicates professionally with residents, staff, and family members

Pay

• Dietary Aide: $16.00 to start
• Cook Supervisor: $19.00 to start
