Food Service Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility.
• Prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus using kitchen utensils and machines.
• Report to a Food Service Director and work onsite inside a jail/correctional facility.
• Manage inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Cook food according to recipes and serve menu portions to meet clients’ nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers and promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.
• Stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift; perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

• Ability to work as a team member and remain flexible.
